Sri Lanka Facts
Day 01. Arrival – Ratnapura.
Arrival at the Bandaranayake International Airport, to be met by the Starron Tours Tour Leader/Guide and transfer to a hotel in Ratnapura for the rest of the day.
If time permits explore the area around the hotel for butterflies.
Lunch, dinner & overnight in Ratnapura.

Day 02. Ratnapura.
After breakfast visit Gilimale Forest Reserve and outskirts of the Peak Wilderness sanctuary exploring for Butterflies.
Possible species: Common Sailor, Peacock Pansy, Grey Pansy, Common Emigrant and Common Mormon etc.
Lunch, dinner & overnight in Ratnapura.

Day 03. Sinharaja Forest
After breakfast proceed to Sinharaja Rain Forest.
Have lunch at the lodge and explore the periphery of Sinharaja in the afternoon.
Possible species: Metallic Cerulean, Plum Judy, Glassy Tiger, Great Crow, Cruiser, Angled Pierrot and Nigger, Ceylon Tree Nymph, Red Helen, Common Bluebottle, Tailed Jay and Tawny Rajah.
Dinner & overnight stay in the periphery of Sinharaja.

Day 04. Sinharaja Forest
After breakfast spend the full day in Sinharaja looking at butterflies with picnic lunch.
Possible species: Ceylon Hedge Blue, The Red Spot, The Dark Palm Dart, The Rustic, The Indian Palm Bob, The Ceylon Snow Flat, The Common Jay and other butterflies
Dinner & overnight stay in the periphery of Sinharaja.

Day 05. Kandy
After breakfast leave for Kandy.
Have lunch in the hotel and spend the afternoon in the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens.
Possible species: Endemic Ceylon Birdwing, Blue Mormon, Common Mormon, Common Rose, Crimson Rose, Mime and Banded Peacock.
Dinner & overnight stay in Kandy.

Day 06. Wasgamuwa
Take a picnic breakfast and proceed to Wasgamuwa vis Matale, Revelston, Pitawala Patana and Laggala Pallegama, looking at butterflies on the way.
Possible species: Lemon Emigrant, Common Albatross, Lesser Albatross (an endemic), Common Gull, White Four-Ring, Common Cerulean, Common Jay, Baron, Dark Wanderer, Chocolate Soldier, Commander, Rustic, and Great Eggfly. Common Tiger, Blue Glassy Tiger, and Dark Blue Tiger. Banded Peacocks, Club Beak etc. Also the very rare and endemic Ceylon Forester, Blue Pansy, Great Orange Tip and Crimson Rose,
Lunch, dinner & overnight stay in Wasgamuwa.

Day 07. Habarana.
After breakfast explore the area around the lodge for a few hours and proceed to Habarana.
Stop in selected sites for butterflies. Possible species: Common Jezebel, Tailless Lineblue, Plain Tiger, Lesser Grass Blue, Double Branded Black Crow, Grey Pansy, Lime Butterfly and other butterflies.
Have lunch on the way.

Day 08. Habarana
Visit Ritigala Strict Nature Reserve with picnic lunch and look for butterflies.
Possible species: Common Indian Crow, Plain Hedge Blue, Small Salmon Arab, Small Grass Yellow, Common Grass Yellow, Banded Blue Pierrot, Common Acacia Blue. White Orange Tip, Yellow Orange Tip, Common Bushbrown, Chestnut Streaked Sailor, Nigger, Angled Castor, Gladeye Bushbrown, Tawny Rajah, Blue Mormon and other butterflies.
Dinner & overnight stay in Habarana.

Day 09. Habarana
After breakfast visit the Kaludiyapokuna Archaeological Park area.
Possible species: Common Bluebottle, Common Jay, Common Banded Peacock, Great Eggfly, Tawny Coster, Malayan, Large Oakblue, Mottled Emigrant, Common Pierrot, Lime Blue, Dark Cerulean, Tiny Grass Blue, Quaker, Indian Sunbeam, Tamil Yeoman, Tamil Lacewing and other butterflies.
Have lunch on the way.
Dinner & overnight stay in Habarana.

Day 10. Departure.
Spend two or three hours after breakfast looking for butterflies around the lodge.
Lunch at the lodge.
After lunch transfer to the Airport for departure in the night.
